Bill Buys Salvage Car with Bad Odometer
Bill from Colorado submits this Car Dealer Horror Story about a car bought on eBay was a salvage car with a bad odometer…
“Purchased a car on E-bay at a big dealership in Missouri. Shipped it home. Found out that car is a salvage car with a broken odometer. Title branded clean with no odometer problems. Also vin on title does not match the vin on the car. I obviously dont want the car. Is the dealership responsible for picking the car up and giving my money back and can I recoup any shipping costs already spent. All the dealership has said as of lately is a half felt apology – nothing else!”

Administrators response to Bills Car Dealer Horror Story…
Wow! I guess it wouldn’t help for me to say that you should have checked the vin on the paperwork with the vin on the car BEFORE you took it? Don’t want to kick you when you are down but that is a mess. It seems to me that you should definetely demand that they give you your money back. If they won’t then you should contact the attorney general for that state and whatever other consumer protection agencies exist in that state too. I’m really sorry for the hassles. I’m not a lawyer but you might consider taking them to small claims court if they won’t give you your money back and pick it up at your home.
