“Meatball Sundae” and “Permission Marketing” by Seth Godin, Meatball explains in an entertaining way the why and the how of changing your business to the new marketing reality of the web. Permission explains that email is not snail mail with free stamps, but something much more powerful. I highly recommend them both.

“101 Ways To Promote Your Website” by Susan Sweeney, the title pretty much explains the book. Not extremely technical, and a better book as a result. Great book to start out with. If you do or direct your web site provider to do 25% of what she suggests, your web site will improve.

“The Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell, not about BHPH or websites but…it’s about the small and sometimes unexpected things that can happen in a positive (or negative) way to change you, your business and your life. Continual small positive changes will have a profound effect. I keep it in mind as I test ideas and modify sites. Highly recommended!

Plus…any book that explains “Google Analytics” in plain language, there must be 30 of them.

“The E Myth Revisited” by Michael Gerber, this may sound strange as you have not read the book, but it talks to you about working ON your business…not IN it. Sounds subtle but an important difference. Great book for small business people like most BHPH owners.
